One 60-day voyage circling the Land Down Under is being halted following the tragic passing of an elderly lady who was stranded by the vessel on a distant tropical isle.

The elderly woman had been hiking on the tropical location with other travelers from the Coral Adventurer, but separated from the party for a break. The ship left without her and went back after some time after the crew realised the woman was unaccounted for.

A major hunt discovered her body the subsequent day.

Investigative bodies are looking into the event, together with law enforcement and the medical examiner.

The CEO of the cruise operator stated that guests and personnel on the ship were told that the continuation of the journey had been cancelled due to the "tragic passing and earlier engine troubles".

In a statement, he mentioned that passengers would be provided a full refund, and said the company was working "to organize the travel back of the travelers via specially arranged planes".
